Mobile listening ideas?

Post by jbeen » Tue Aug 25, 2015 7:42 am

Hello fellow radio listeners.

First, I'm impressed with the technology & effort taken to make this site work & available to us. Thanks.

Second, I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to listen to the Radio Capture feed on an Android phone?

For me, the web page only plays one clip at a time. It doesn't advance to the next clip automatically.

This is with versions - Android 5.1 & Chrome 44.

Appreciate any feedback the admins or users might have.

Thanks,
Josh

Hehe, sorry about that... Never got around to writing an android app. I may get some time to look into the issue you're seeing in a few weeks, but in the meantime you may want to try downloading some different browsers and seeing if any of them work. I know there are a few people that have used RC from Android before.

Good news everyone, my friend Bob found a 'fix' for this....

Within Chrome on Android, goto chrome://flags
and search for the "Disable gesture requirement for media playback" option.
This should be a direct link:
chrome://flags/#disable-gesture-requirement-for-media-playback

Tap Enable to flip this on.

Now, clips should play back continuously. :-)

Take care,
Josh

I know this is an old thread but am wondering about the possibility of getting this resurrected? Have you given any thought to this? I am not saying create an app but some sort of mobile listening would be great.

Chrome 60 onward replaced the previous option with the "Autoplay policy" option. Set this to "No user gesture is required" to get continuous playback.

The direct link: chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy
